One of the remarkable buildings of “Alexandria” complex is the gothic Chapel. It is situated not far from the upper gate of the Petergof Park.

The creation of the Chapel reflects Russian-German cultural ties in the early 19 th century. The project of the Chapel - court church for country royal residence – was ordered to the famous German architect Schinkel in the beginning of 1829. The construction was entrusted to Menelas, who began the work in 1831. The building was completed in 1834.

The Chapel is a unique architectural creation, with rich statuary and filigree cast iron decor. It is distinguished by harmony in proportions and spectacular shape.
